Tidewatch

Tidewatch is a 5-reel, 3-row game with 10 lines, set on a harbour headland under a striped lighthouse. The lighthouse is wild. Three ship's bells start 5 free spins in which every lighthouse stays where it lands until the free spins end.

How it plays

The rules of Tidewatch

  1. Tidewatch plays 10 lines on every spin; a run of 3 to 5 equal symbols from the left edge pays.
  2. The lighthouse is wild on every reel and stands in for every symbol except the ship's bell. Three, four or five lighthouses from the left pay 50, 250 or 1,000 times the line cost.
  3. Three or more ship's bells anywhere on a paid spin start 5 free spins at the same spin cost. Each reel holds one bell at most.
  4. Every lighthouse on the spin that starts them, and every one that lands during them, is held in place until the free spins end, so they gather from spin to spin. Free spins cannot be won again during free spins.

The feature

Free spins with held lighthouses

The bells started free spins once every 106 paid spins in our test. Held lighthouses make this the game with the widest swings: its biggest round returned 788 times the spin cost, while something came back on only 1 spin in 2.7.

Tidewatch: illustration of a striped lighthouse over a harbour with a sailing ketch
The cover shows the lighthouse throwing its beam over the water as a red-sailed ketch heads home, with gulls overhead, a kite flying from the cliff and crabs on the rocks below a ship's bell. The symbols follow the shore: ketch, crab and gull pay the most; shell, starfish, rope knot and kite pay the least.

What pays

Symbols and pays in Tidewatch

At 100 coins a spin on 10 lines, each line costs 10 coins, so three ketch symbols on a line pay 30 × 10 = 300 coins.

Pays are in multiples of the line cost. “3 for 50” means three in a row pay 50 times that amount.
